Agglestone Labs · Research and development

Software engineering and data science R&D.

We take on technical problems where nobody knows the answer yet. Each project is planned as a series of experiments, tested against real data and written up as we go, so what we learn is yours to build on. Our work suits any field with hard data problems, from science and medicine to finance and logistics.

What we work on

Problems where the method, or whether it can be done at all, isn't known at the start.

How we work

A systematic approach, written down as we go, so every result can be checked and repeated.

  1. 1Pin down the questionWhat we're trying to find out, and why the answer isn't already known or obvious.
  2. 2Plan the experimentsA hypothesis for each one, a baseline to beat and how success is measured, agreed before we start.
  3. 3Run, measure, repeatEach result shapes the next experiment, and every one goes in the project log.
  4. 4Hand over what we foundA write-up of the results and the reasons behind them, plus the code and models.

If the answer were already known, it wouldn't be research. We tell you up front what's uncertain, and at the end exactly what we found, including what didn't work.

Why Agglestone Labs

  • Research done in New Zealand. By a Kiwi software company.
  • Any field with a hard question. Wherever the answer isn't known yet, the method is the same: plan the experiments, test them properly and write it all down.
  • We build real software. We make Agglestone Suite and Agglestone Auth ourselves, so our research is made to work outside the lab.
  • Written down as we go. Plans, experiments and results are recorded, so the work can be checked and built on.
  • Straight answers. We'll tell you if something isn't a research problem, or if an idea doesn't work.
